Canada's Scrapbooking Crop for Kids

Effer Dares Layout
Instructor: Kristina Contes
Sponsored by Tinkering Ink and Hambly.
Okay Hambly pulled out so we used Tinkering Inks. Awesome line, really enjoyed this class. Kris is a real sweetheart. Every time she opens her mouth ideas just pour out. I did this LO on me, it was great to do. I have done Effer's for a long time and it was great to meet one of the founders of this. And I won the new Dare book and got it autographed.

"Me" Journal
Instructor: Sally Griswold and Josie Celio
'Me Journal', an introspective personal journal, including cleverly decorated chipboad dividers, and beautifully printed journaling pages with journaling prompts designed to help you explore, uplift and celebrate the woman who is uniquely you!
Materials will include the new release materials from Prima
Sponsored by Prima Marketing Inc. and Sakura.
The new materials from Prima were there newsprint flowers, very cool. WE only had time to do the title page of this, it looked pretty good. I love my flowers.

Supply Smarts - Boy
Instructor: Melissa Inman
Sponsored by Fiskars/Cloud 9 Design.
Gorgeous paper, and loved the one LO we did of Austin. I even bought the kit for the Supply Smarts - girl, it was gorgeous too.

Fold-out Frame
PM Instructor: Dianne Rainer
Sponsored by Tin Box Creations.
This was my absolute favorite class. It was such a neat project and just PLAIN fun.

Quickutz Card Class
Instructor: Angela (Scribblers 'n Such owner)
Sponsored by Scribblers 'n Such.
We did a really neat little mini album with QK revolution dies and a bazzill album. I won two dies, and we were given a limited edition heart die. Very cool class.

Jumbo "Love" Wall Sign
Instructor: Lance Anderson
Sponsored by Rusty Pickle.
Lance is an owner of Rusty Pickle. He actually slept through part of the class, and had a friend actually teach it. He had had front row awesome seats to the Oilers hockey game the night before, and this was an 8 am class. Gorgeous project made here.

Through the Years
Instructor: Ronee Parsons
When it comes to coordinating products, no one does it better than Karen Foster Design! Take this fun, product-packed class to make an adorable spiral bound mini-book featuring Karen Foster Design's beautiful calendar papers. Turn it into a desk calendar, a brag book for photos throughout the year, or a really fun planner, the possibilities are endless!
Sponsored by Karen Foster Design.
Ronee was so much fun, and the project was completed and is awesome.

The Many Faces of Me
Instructor: Andrea Beaumont
There are so many parts of what makes us a woman and during this class we will explore some of those. We will be making a clipboard to showcase some of the important roles we play to the special people in our lives.
Sponsored by A2Z Essentials.
Very nice clipboard totally completed in class, now I have to figure out what to do with it. LOL.

Family Love Calendar
Instructor: Leica Forrest
Sponsored by Canvas Concepts and Sassafrasslass.
This is a nice project, some innovative things taught in it, I just am not sure of the colors in it. Leica was a real sweetheart.

Only The Finest Will Do!
Instructor: Kristina Contes
Sponsored by Tinkering Ink.
Somehow this ended up very similiar to the Effer Dare class, so I threw in a twist and just totally made it my own. Kris loved that. I made this LO about Alexis and where she is now in her life.

Beyond the Basics
Instructor: Johanna Peterson
Sponsored by Scrapbook Lifestyle
This was a total insight into the realm of photography. Another 8 am class, but so so so easy to learn from, she can put all the techie stuff totally into my terms. Loved this. What I wouldn't give to have a week worth of her coaching me.

Altered Jacob's Ladder
Instructor: Jessi Lute
Sponsored by 3 Bugs in a Rug.
Jessi is from right here in Red Deer, or was anyway. I loved this project. Her DH was a real help in this class as well. Great fun, and I love the project.

The Beauty of Life
Instructor: Kelly Goree
Join Kelly Goree as she helps you to create an adorable Basic Grey matchbook album that will include 8 of your favorite photos from the past year as well as numerous inspirational quotes. This class will focus on using your own handwriting and how to "doodle" without it looking "too doodled" using Sakura pens.
Kelly is a phenonema, totally, loved her. She made my 4 year old sons first day there by getting down on his level and shaking his hand and speaking with him, he was feeling a little overwhelmed by all the big people around him. She is a mom of 3 boys herself so she knows. Loved this project. I have never known what to do with the matchbooks before. My DS then ended up losing his most favorite possession in the whole world his POKEY, it was a very very long Friday night, until Daddy came up on Saturday with the spare. Now I need to find another spare. I won Nic Howards new book in this class.Sponsored by Basic Grey and Sakura

Not-So-Basic Bazzill Basics
Instructor: Lynette Steingard
Bazzill Basics, the cardstock staple for every scrapbooker! But Bazzill is more than just paper. Join Lynette in this class where she will show you how to use Bazzill Basics paper and Bazzill embellishments to create some not-so-basic projects.
Sponsored by Bazzill.
A gorgeous bright orange bazzill (rhymes with dazzle) 8*8 album and their new product line of stitching and a one page LO. This was so much fun.

Scalloped Flower Page Frame and Surprise Project
Instructor: Michelle Van Etten
This class is very technique oriented and is intended for intermediate to advanced scrappers. Sign up for this class and get a "SURPRISE" project to go with it! Sponsored by Fancy Pants Designs and Sakura.
I did not find this too technique advanced, just a lot to do in 1.5 hours. I did not finish, but then I didn't have a pic to put in it either. Michelle is fantastic. She was running around in bare blistered feet. Her apron of flowers rocked. This is a gorgeous project I really want to finish.I had to wonder about a spare piece of chipboard being called a SURPRISE project though. mmmmm

I did class after class after class. I never did make it to crop at all, nor to any of the "events" put on for participants, or make and takes. I totally received my moneys worth. Loved this. I left feeling renewed, invigorated, and inspired, and very very tired. LOL.

I shopped only a little bit, but I did buy myself some Hambly. woohooo.

To the women attending that felt they had to yell at the volunteers shame on you, to the women that tried to insist on getting a tax deductible receipt, not a possibility, to the women that bitched that the 3 x 3 blocks were 3 x 2 7/8, get over it. The money went to our local Childrens Hospital the Stollery. It was so worthwhile, how could you be so negative about such a good cause. My daughter has been a patient there and I love that money was raised and will stay at our own hospital. I cannot wait to find out how much money was raised.

Trish did a wonderful job spearheading this event.

West Edmonton Mall gets my thumbs up and thumbs down. That they donated the space for this event is awesome. That they then bumped parts of us into less desirable places not so awesome. Then when they wouldn't honor the quoted price for the hotel room I really lost it with them.

My Mom, DD and DS were all at the mall the weekend joined by Daddy too. They did the rides, the waterpark, the golfing, the sea life caverns, and the sea lions. Awesome mini vacation. We stayed in the theme room safari. We had bamboo bunk beds, a lava hot tub, african scenes on the walls, an awesome room.

I spend a lot of time in the hot tub due to the chronic pain I am in, it is the only thing (well pain killers helped too) that got me through this weekend.

I never quite "got" Scrap Etc, and now I can say I do "GET" it. Totally.

Sounds like a fantastic weekend. I love going to classes that inspire me even if I never use that technique again. Well done on winning prizes; tell me what you think of Nic Howard's book?
