Wow, what a weekend

Wow, what a weekend………… I was the mystery scrapper at the Pennsylvania crop. I elected to stay a mystery as I did not want people to cancel if I was going to be there, or come specifically if I was going to be there. I didn’t want any drama. The plan was Nancy was supposed to drop me off at the grocery store go set up in the crop room, and then I would saunter in, push my way into the reserved tables and set up, and see if anyone recognized me. LOL. Well it just didn’t work out like that. In March on the day I bought the tickets. I phoned my Mom and asked her if she was sure she would be able to handle the kids for a weekend if DH had to work. She said she was sure. This after DH had informed me the guy that was going to cover for him decided to go to Vegas for holidays that weekend. That very night, my Mom calls me and asks me to take her to the hospital. She had been in severe pain that morning when I talked to her but did not want to disappoint me so said nothing. She had

My very first one ever. Can I say heaven. And it made my day to be told my feet are in great shape. the bubbles, the massage, the rub, the polish all fantastic. AND THEN The lime green fake flipflops to wear for the next half hour so that my nails dry properly. Oh yes did I mention it has been snowing since 8 am. mmmm, fake plastic on icy sidewalks and roads, not a good combination. eeekkkk snow did not come yesterday as forecast but came this morning, and is supposed to last till Tuesday. argggggg we need the moisture, we need the mositure, is all I keep telling myself. I would much rather have preferred April Showers though to April rain.

Thoughtful Thursday

Alberta headlines an announcement that there are 3,500 new positions for childcare in Alberta in 51 different communities. So I read the report. Which can be found here....http://www.child.alberta.ca/home/587.cfm . It comes down to 3,489 positions at the cost of $4,853,940.00 that comes out to $1,391.21 per position. Makes me wonder. Red Deer my community gets 68 positions at two differernt centres and $102,000, which works out to 1,500.00 per position. I just do not get it. I am pulled aside at daycare yesterday where my 4 year old DS attends full time. The owner of the centre tells me that C has left, that the other C is being moved to a new room, and that a brand new C, and J are going to start, and lead will be held by N who has been there two weeks. The daycare owner tells me she doesn't know why but she cannot keep staff in that room. I pay $775.00 a month for him to attend daycare, I pay $255.00 a month for my daughter to attend after school care from 3-6 on school days.

Weird Wednesday's

Yesterday as I picked DD up at afterschool care, a little boy was trying to slip a note into her backpack unseen by me and her. Then DD grabs it from me, not wanting me to see it. She got her first love note. And this is the same little boy that her and him used to fight constantly in September. LOL. This scares me. On Monday I had to drag DS to daycare kicking and screaming, then I had to drag him out monday night kicking and screaming. He doesn't want to go, but he doesn't want to leave either. Yesterday was better, and this morning was good, we will see about tonight. Weather has allowed me to be out walking some. I saw about five robins yesterday morning, and more and more ducks and geese all the time. Spring has to come soon. Then the weatherman says there will be snow on Friday Saturday and Sunday. arggggg. We just get rid of the allergies from snow mold and now the fuzzies on the trees are starting to come out. Maybe if it is heavy wet snow it will make all th

These are highlights of my home. For another circle journal on decorating. Funny story on that black jaguar, I was in bed the first day home after having my first child. It had been a difficult delivery, and I was not feeling well, and we were worried about the baby too. DH walks in my room, with this jaguar on his shoulder, I fell in love with it. I love big cats, and black jaguars are a favorite of mine. About three years later, DH sheepishly admitted he had bought it for his brand new baby girl, but when he saw my eyes light up, he had given it to me. Gotta love that man at times.

I unexpectedly managed to go to a crop at my LSS on Saturday night. The girl I sat with was new, but man we laughed. I had a great time. It was good to get out.

Reasonable expectation of safety

Image
Reasonable expectation of safety. In the morning as I put my child on the school bus I have the expectation she will arrive safely at her destination. By her riding the bus it saves me time, and gas, and it gives her something to assert control over. I grew up in a rural area, the school bus was something that was taken. It just was. It was unheard of for parents to drive their kids into town to school. We live in the city now, but since there are no schools in our neighborhood you have the choice of busing your kids at no charge or driving them yourself. DD so looked forward to starting grade one and being able to take the school bus. It is something I did, so I let her to. There have been three fatalities involving school buses in this area in the last year. Two of them involving gravel trucks. It is scary. Yesterday morning when I heard of the accident, then by noon they released that it was a fatality, then by three they released the name. A small rural area, devastated

My Life as a TV Show

Image
A circle journal I am participating in, had this as a topic. My Life as a TV show. I picked the title "Just You Wait" Just You Wait is a show about just what can actually happen in life. It tests out the Murphy’s Law of Science that if something can go wrong it will. Some shows will be shockingly funny; others will reduce you to tears. You will never know what is coming next. Keeping you on the edge of your seat throughout the episode just wondering what can possibly happen next. Each episode will be complete in itself although you will never know when something small from episodes gone past will come back and have a an impact. As this show is based on true events you will be left wondering, if it all really just happened. The gripping nature of the plot is what has you anxiously anticipating the next installment. You will quickly become addicted to JUST YOU WAIT.

My list - update one

Things that have to be done prior to APril 30. 1) clean off desk 2) sort out tax stuff Completed (find all tax stuff) 3) do my Mom's taxes completed 4) scrap book I gotta scrap book 5) start walking when it warms up 6) wash the vehicles Completed 7) clean out the vehicles COmpleted 8) put stuff back in DD room 9) clean the bathtub 10) clean the kitchen floor Completed those are managable on top of everything else I HOPE

Word 14 Who I am Busy

Busy- That is what I seem to be. I have had a few near death experiences and always tell myslef I need to slow down and enjoy the daily stuff more. However I always end up just being so rushed, and anxious , that I make myself busy. If I am sitting down, I am telling myself I should be up doing something. If I am doing something, I think I should be doing even more. It just never ends. It eats away at me. All this keeping in mind that I am a full time employee outside the home, have two kids, one in school, one in daycare, have a house to maintain, three pets, and an absentee husband. If I do not do it, I feel it will not get done, and I am usually right.

Who I am Word 13 History

History: I love history, I truly believe that if we do not learn from our past we are doomed to repeat it. I love the old legends, the myths, the tales from years generations gone by. Could it be because I have no history myself. Probably. I love to read historical romances, that are based on fact. I love to read any history books. The taming of the Caribean is a favorite time for me. I have absorbed more books written on the topic than most people know exist. Being in St. Croix and seeing the old fort, the building that still remain, the big chunks of rock, wow, Martinique, to be in a church that Napoleon was in, WOW, going to Quebec City which will celebrate 400 years this summer. Love it all. I feel that at one time in one life I lived back then. I feel it deeply. It is part of who I am.

Are we sure today isn't Monday????

This morning DS comes and crawls in bed with me, and asks, Mommy is it a daycare day, yes it is sweetie, "NUTS" he says. Where he ever heard that is beyond me. I actually had to wake DD up. In her entire 7.5 years of life this has probably happened maybe a handful of times. She never sleeps, so to have to wake her up in the morning is WOW. Just to complicate things even more, I look out the window at 8:11 and see the bus going by, it isn't supposed to come till 8:17. So I had to take DD to school today too. It is month end at work, and lots to do. April fools day, haven't heard a thing. Love the new Quickutz dies, Around the world in 80 dies, awesome. I can see me spending way to much money on them. I am getting hooked on a really weird show Dexter. I have caught about the last three shows. Part two of Medium last night shocked me. I am apalled at Joe making light of insurance fraud. Totally apalled. It makes legitimate claims that much harder. A sore spot
