New Teeth

Well it is done, I am offically an old lady now. I have "dentures". I cannot say the word outloud yet. I had my last six upper teeth pulled on Tuesday and had my pretty new teeth ready to be popped right in. Can I say ouch. One of the eye teeth (canine) took some of the jaw bone with it. Didn't hurt due to the freezing but that night and even now. OUCH. My lips are swollen, my face is, and I am still bleeding. I don't know if my teeth are white or red at any given time. Biggest compliment in the whole world lifted my spirits though. DH made a point to come and be home on Tuesday night. He takes a look at me and says, "OMG you look just like you looked when you were 19 and had your braces off". What a compliment. Got him a little way out of the doghouse. I told the denturist what he said and he was very pleased. I can take them out and rinse them and then immediately put them back in. OUCH. I hate the taste of blood I really do. Once the swe

NHRA Driver hurt

John Force had a horrible crash yesterday. Viewing it made you almost sick. The car sustained massive structural damage and split in two just behind the motor, the bodies were off. Looked like Kenny Bernstien hit the last timing cone, looks like it hit Johns rear tire, John lost control (won the race though), did a very very sharp right, hit Kennys car and hit the wall very hard. Car bodies flying everywhere and the front of Johns car continuing down the track. SHowed the safety safari trying to move the part of the car john was still in, all that was there was the tire and the body cage. Yesterday it was frightening. Today they are reporting a broken ankle, broken wrist, and abrasions. That is a total miracle. I am amazed that he did not lost body parts. My thoughts and prayers go out to John and family.

DH 50th Birthday Surprise

I mentioned to DH about 8 am Saturday that he had until about 10 to do his stuff whatever it may be and then I wanted him. He goes on and on about "We will see". Well I said this is not optional. And then he said you will not tell me what to do. I said again as of 10 you are mine, just trust me. He goes on again in that damn voice of his "He will see". Well by then I am in tears, pissed off and say to him, if you don't agree to it, I will damn well do it by myself. He went and did some stuff, came back, I asked him if he had changed his mind. NOPE. So I took the kids down to Mom's and did a couple of things, and then went back home to have lunch before I left. I asked one last time are you coming or not? He very very very very begrudgingly said yes. I was so hurt, and so so so angry, that I had smoke coming from my ears. He always thinks "stuff" is more important than time spent with the family. Wednesday Wanderings

Yesterday was a beautiful day, it hit about 21 celcius here. Mom was watching the kids so I took the vette out for a drive. I stopped at a field to get some pics of some uncut oats and was playing around with my new camera. Another car pulled up and the lady asked me what I was doing. I told her, and said I was a farm girl myself and would never hurt anything. She said why don't you take your car into the one cut swath and get some pics of it? I declined and she said it would be just fine. So I limped the car into the field and tried taking some shots. The sun was in the wrong position and I got a lot of glare, but it was fun playing. I will have to load some of the pics. It was so nice to go out and drive the car. I then went to a SU party group, the fall frenzy specials are a great incentive. Then it started to rain, my car got wet. It was pitch black by 8:30 and I hate driving the vette in the dark, you overrun your headlights so much. I watched both biggest loser an

9-11 and for our soldiers

The events that transpired on 9/11 were horrible and they rocked the world, and changed life as we knew it. My heart goes out to everyone, cause each of us was affected in some way by the senseless act of violence perpetrated on so many innocent people. On this day though there has to be a moment taken for our soldiers that are over in Afganistan fighting and trying to eliminate the threat of further senseless acts of violence. The USA started the war there and then decided that Iraq was a better fight and basically left Afganistan to other nations to fight the war there. So my thoughts today go to the living, the fighting soldiers that are trying to prevent something like this from ever happening again.

Escape Artist

This is the cage, notice there is no hampster in it. This little white guy with pink eyes is Austin. Well, we have an escape artist at work in my house. But first I have to tell you we have two new additions to our family. We promised the kids in June that when holidays were over that they could get a pet. A cat is out as I am allergic and I think the bird would object. Both DH and I agree that a dog would not be a good idea when no one is home all day. A rabbit was seriously considered, but in the end hamsters won out. Last Friday we went to the store and got a hampster for each of the kids. We had got all the hampster stuff (most of it) from freecylce or garage sales. And the hampsters were on sale for Labor Day weekend. DS picked a white one with pink eyes, he was very forceful in picking that particular one. Promise of things to come

I am sitting here at my desk at work, feeling a little overwhelmed at all that needs done, wishing the phone would quit ringing. I look out the window and see a most beautiful rainbow. It stretches so that I can see it in front of trees. I can actually see where a raibow ends. Maybe I can go and find the pot of gold. I truly believe that there is a reason for me seeing that beauty today. School is back in and the night terrors are back. I wonder if there is a correlation. I am so tired, with the kids having me awake. My new meds don't seem to be helping, with the pain or the sleep. It makes me cranky to be in this much pain. The cool wet weather does not help.

Seriously I feel like yelling the sky is falling the sky is falling. I work in a small company. I am the accounting department. ME I am it. When I go on holidays my work just accumulates until I come back. So being gone for two strait weeks, means lots has accumulated. I just am buried under it all. Panick is setting in. Month end is five days past and I am still not ready to close it. arggggg Breath, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 exhale. My holidays were so worth it though. I have been busy sending my pictures to be printed, and I am going to scrapbook Friday night. I am so excited. I want to see if they are as good hard copy as they look on the screen. WOOHOO

School Chaos - not sure what to think PART 2

Friday afternoon when I went to pick up Alexis she was very upset. Seems at 2:30, half an hour before school let out for the day, more changes happened. She is back in the basement, in a dedicated grade two class, with a teacher she has never heard of. She is so upset that Mrs. K is not going to be her teacher; she really wanted her. The only saving grace is that Mrs. K. is teaching grade three not two at all. She is also upset the kids she thought were in her class are no longer there. She is upset that the changes happened, why didn't they do it in the first place Mom? Her agenda is no longer any good, and on and on and on. Poor kids, just chaos for them and for the teachers. Apparently the principal (new one ) was surprised at the number of kids that showed up. WTF, you knew how many had registered, generally thats how many show up. ARGGGGGG
