Need your opinion????

Image
I did these two LO for my two kids. I want to put one picture on one of them being sweet to each other and on the other one I want to put a pic of them being mean to each other. I then want to frame them separately. And whoever is the nicest gets the nice picture that night in their room and whoever is the meanest gets the mean picture in their room. But I am not sure which picture to put on which LO. Please make a suggestion!

Compliment or Insult??

Image
Well so many people tell me my daughter is just like me. I have even done a scraping LO on it. But sometimes I am not sure if it is a compliment or insult. When she is brilliant, happy, smart, caring, I think it is a great compliment. When she is mouthy, spoiled, uncaring it drives me nuts and I think it is a horrible insult. I asked my Mom straight out if I was ever that bad. Mom said you were even worse. I just don't remember it. The few times I do remember mouthing off my mom took a wooden spoon to me, so I don't recall doing it often. The trouble started when Daughter had her birthday on July 12. She got a huge party and presents and a whole bunch of stuff mailed to her from my SJ buddies. SO Son has his third birthday on the 28. That morning I heard her tell him that it meant NOTHING because he wasn't having a big party. Since he is just 3 we had a small family party not a big blowout one. I was so hurt that daughter would tell son that. So hurt. WHere is her caring si

Friday and its a birthday

My little one offically turns 3 today. How is that possible. He is such a little personality it just makes him seem so much my little guy. Considering he potty trained himself a couple of weeks ago, he truly is growing up. He is in the 25th percentile for height and weight. A perfectly porportionate little guy. His sister that turned six back on the 12 is having a little bit of an issue that it is now his TURN for the presents and cake. She is being a real handful. Hopefully I will get some time to myself this weekend, and get to watch the race or more likely fall asleep during the race. I do not even know where it is. How is that for an absentee fan. I have not even had a chance to find out about Tony and Carls fines and penalties. So happy birthday son, you are still my little guy.

Holiday in my own backyard.

Image
I managed to take my two weeks holidays and spend them in my own back yard. All within a three hour radius of my home there are desert, dinosaurs, lakes, urban largest shopping mall in the world, West Edmonton Mall, parks, parades, local fair, pancake breakfasts, mountains, glaciers. It is truly a beautfiul place to live and was very refreshing seeing it through a new persons eyes. Back in 1983 to foster Canadian spirit there were a lot of French exchange programs with Quebec. I went there, a girl came here. Well 23 years later we are still friends so it worked for us. I went there in 1999 and now she came here. SO here are some pics.

Wake up Call

Well, my holidays were a wake up call for me. They truly were. I need to take more time, I need to laugh more, I need some me time. I loved having my friends here from Montreal and I loved having the kids with me for the two weeks. A little Mommy time would have been nice. I suffer on a daily basis from chronic pain and fibromyalgia caused from a car accident back in 1996. This September will be 10 years for my altered life. It is hard. Very very hard. At work I hurt sitting all day long. I am grumpy when I get home and have to be Mommy to two kids that have been left at daycare all day. They want fun and games and I just want to die. It is not fair to them at all. My limitations were a slap in the face to my while on holidays. Due to pain and lack of mobility I just could not do with my kids what my friend could do with her daughter. I hurt, I had to have naps, I truly wished I would fall off the face of the earth a few times. Looking back though all I will see are the s

Post Holiday Depression

I am suffering from it badly. So here is a joke for you. .·:*¨*:·.·:·.·:*¨*:·.·:·.·:*¨*:·.·:·.·:*¨*:·.·:·.·:*¨*:·.·:·.·:*¨*:·.·:·.Life is set up backwards. The most unfair thing about life is the way it ends. I mean, life is tough. It takes up a lot of your time. What do you get in the end of it? Death. What's that, a bonus? I think the life cycle is all backwards. You should die first. You know, start out dead, get it out of the way. You wake up in an old age home, feeling better every day. You get kicked out for being too healthy, go collect your pension, then when you start work, you get a gold watch on your first day. You work 40 years until you're young enough to enjoy your retirement. You drink like a fish, party your a$$ off, and screw anything that moves - you've only got a few years left, so why not?!?Then you get ready for High School. You go to primary school, you become a kid, you play, you have no responsibilities. You become a baby, and then you spend your last

Kia Ora!!! Kei te pehea koe? In New Zealand it is Maori language week, when we celebrate the language of the indegious peeple of New Zealand. In case you were wondering the above says: Hello!!! How are you? You see this is my last chance to guest blog as Oscar should be back from holiday by now. As such I thought I'd go out in style and tell you all a little bit about my wonderful country, New Zealand. You see we are so far away from the rest of world that not a lot of people know about us. In fact many people think we are part of Australia (which is considered an insult as we have these sibling revivalery thing with them). The good thing about being so far away thuogh is we are so different from anywhere else. For instance, our national bird the Kiwi is a flightless bird. In fact it has wings but the fact that we split of so early in the history of the world means that we didn't have any predators so its wings became useless. This brings me to a pet peev. The Fugitive

Sorry but I am going to have to beat Jes to it. I have been holding onto this little story for 3 days and just have to get it down... plus I think that Booboobear will like it. Not far from where I live there was a jail break recently... well not really a jail break, but a ZOO break. in, an Asian short clawed Otter and two of her friends had just been given a new enclosure at Auckland Zoo. Turns out it wasn't the best design and the three made a break for it. Jin's two friends where captured fairly quicly but Jin made her way to a stream, down a river and then out to sea. Once she was out in the free world Jin covered about 20km or 13 miles, no small feat for a little Otter, especailly for a freshwater Otter at sea! The Zoo staff, Depertment of Conservation and the public of Auckland where on the hunt. As the days turned into weeks everyone was worried... you see Jin was born at Auckland Zoo, so frolicking out in the wild and having to hunt for her own food was a new experien

Well Oscar is on holiday or vacation as you call it over in the US of A, and as she said she has asked Jes and I to guest blog for her. I am fairly new to blogging myself and this is my first guest blogging 'gig' but I will try to say something interesting. First off though I'd better tell you about me... Neen is my nickname but it's all I go by these days. As Oscar reported I am from New Zealand. I live here with my partner Mike and our two cats Madori and Opal. I am a scrapbooker, a music lover and a movie guru! That is me in a nutshell... a very small nut shell. Today something amazing happened. Italy won the Football World Cup. Down here we call it soccer but as I found out when we were traveling if you call it soccer in the northern hemisphere you are bound to get the evil eye. Don't get me wrong I am not a sport nut. In fact I've never been a sporty person. I can't stand most sport and can only pay attention if I am actually at the game and part of the

HOLIDAYS

Image
Well the last time I actually had holidays was in 1999 when I took a week off of work. Since then between having babies, maternity leave, unemployment, new job, changing jobs, I have never been entitled to holidays. This year I am. I have a friend from Montreal that I have known since 1983. Back then we were 16 year old kids that went on a French exchange program to try and foster Canadian Unity. Well I went there for a month and she came here for a month. I went back to visit her in 1999 and now she is coming here for the NEXT TWO WEEKS. What that means for me is time off of work. That is a break I need so badly. While I am gone I have asked two friends to be guest bloggers for me. We will see how fun that makes my blog. It will be a real change from my posts. Jes is a sweet young lady from California. She is a great friend and a wicked sense of humor. She has essentially made this blog what it is. Neen is a friend from New Zealand. She just recently got back there after a r

Mystery of the "duck" napping solved

Image
A bout a month ago I posted about these little ducks being "duck"napped out of our local Bower Ponds. Apparantly the story was in the paper solving the crime last night. The ducklings had originally been orphaned. A local rescue centre had taken them in. Looked after them and then turned them loose at the ponds thinking that they could fend for themselves or that another mallard family would adopt them. But the little ducklings were not doing well, so the staff of the rescue centre re-caught them. SInce they were not in identifying clothing, it was reported as a crime. So the ducklings are still at the rescue centre and will be turned loose again when they are a little older.

Question Blog Challenge

What is the hardest question you have ever had to ask? Asking my Mom questions about my father. She always always answered that it was none of my business. I have no idea if the man that was married to her is my father. If the father of my one older sister is my father. If it is someone else. SInce I was about 5 and started asking questions this is the most difficult one for me. Who is my father? Why didn't I have one when everyone else did? Why was I not good enough to love? Who is my father? Who is my Father? and to hear back for the last 35 years that it is none of my business cuts to my very core. I want to know who he is or was, I want to know the medical history, I want to know why he thought he could just walk away, I want to know why I was a disposable child, I want to know I have always wanted to know. It has affected every single aspect of my life. It is the hardest thing I have ever asked. (And I have never gotten an answer) and what is the hardest question

Too Much Time on Your Hands

People that say they are bored get to me. People that say they are bored over and over and over get to me even more. It drives me insane. I never ever ever have enough time in a day, week, month, year, to get done everything that I want to get done. I just do not have the time. When was the last time I was bored. UMMMM Maybe as a ten year old kid on the farm I might have had ten minutes to think about it. Is it just that I have a ethic that I have to do stuff, is it just the way that my brain is wired, I am not sure. But truthfully boredom does not sit well with me. How can people say they are bored? Get off their asses and go and do something end of story. No boredom left. RIght? There is so much in this world that either: 1) Has to be done 2) Needs to be done 3) Should be done that I very seldom ever get a chance to: 4) Do what I would like to do 5) Do something for myself 6) Do something for the sheer enjoyment of it even if and I say if very remotely that I ever manag
