Today is my DS 7th birthday!

Lesle Mora has worked tirelessly for years hosting the Texas Scrapfest Crops and I want to give a huge shout out to her for doing them.  Texas scrapfest 2010 is an I-crop and you can come visit here in order to join in the fun and challenges.  Texas Scrapfest 2010 Thank you so much Lesle. DD poem Hamburgers was picked and published in the book: Over The Moon, A collection of Poems written by young Canadians. She is to put it mildly Over the Moon at being published. I am so proud of her. Of all the schools to enter, her elementary school was picked 3rd best in Canada. I think that is pretty awesome. It was a student teacher doing a practicum that encouraged and helped the kids. That bit of enthusiasum has made a huge difference to my daughter. Congrats Alexis.

I am excited to announce I am offically published. The summer edition of Canadian Scrapbooker published one of my favorite LO ever. I am so happy to see it in print.

These were taken with my little point and shoot in poor poor lighting. I want to try them out with lots of light and a much calmer bunny.

March and the kids are riding bikes among or should I say around the snow banks. Kids both needed new bikes this year, so we picked them up on sale and they wanted to try them out. Been around the block a couple times in the last few weeks. But Saturday and SUnday they rode, and I walked over to the open walking sidewalk, and let them go, a little wet, but no ice and no snow. Saturday they probably did 5 miles, yesterday probably did closer to ten. And that is with DS still with training wheels on. I hobble as far as I can then just park myself keep them in my line of sight and let them go. On a really exciting note, DH got qualified for a radio contest for a trip to the Coca Cola 600 in May. OMG OMG OMG, I think I would faint if we won. Please cross some fingers and toes for us.

My DD (Alexis) entered the Canadian 100th anniversary design your own uniform contest. Her design is one of ten finalists, from across Canada. I am so proud of her. https://2010.girlguides.ca/guides_uniform

The torch was brought to the celebration on a sleigh pulled by a team of clydsdales. DD had been in the parade leading up to the arrival of the Olympic Flame. Day 78 - is supposed to have seen the largest celebration yet on the journey across Canada. 18 - 20 thousand people.

For those of you that do not know, I was hurt in a car accident late in October. It has pretty much been a pain in the neck ever since.

These are some pages I made many many years ago about Candy.

I have a lori (type of parrot), for close to 20 years. During the summer she lost use of one of her legs, the vet was not sure why, we babied her all summer. Changed her eating areas, her cage LO, and tryed everything to help her. She never did regain use of the leg. Friday morning she was her normal self, I played with her, and she talked with me. At noon she did not have use of either leg. She was on the bottom of her cage suffering, like a bobble head, side to side, it was horrible to see. I took her back to the vet. He suggested that the prognosis was not good. We could have MRI'd her, x-rayed her, waited for a diagnosis, or upon his suggestion humanely put her out of her suffering. It was a horrible decision to make. DH was in tears, the two kids were bawling. My bird just coo'ed at us, and kept saying come here, come here, she wanted us. She looked at us. It was a horrible decision to make. I hate having someones life in my decision making power. My kitchen ...

My neice turns 29 today. She was born way back in 1980. Such a long long time ago. When she was a little girl, I had her so much of the time. When she was "little" her Mom would drop her off with my Mom and me and she would be with us for weeks or months at a time. When I left home at 17, for some reason my sister stopped dropping her off at Moms and started dropping her off with me. I worked, went to school, was a single parent in all intents and purposes to a child that was not my own. This continued for years. Once she started school, she would get left with me for the summer, or holidays. I often had to scramble to find child care in a city that I was not familiar with. At times I thought she would end up with me permanently. I took her places, bought her things, she went travelling and camping with us. I sent her to camps. Basically she was like my own kid. Or so it seemed. Then I got hurt, I couldn't do the things I used to do. Money was more of an is...

Monday is Canadas Thanksgiving: I am thankful for: 1) Living in a country as great as Canada 2) Having my two children with me every day 3) Having a job 4) Having the ability to be creative 5) Thankful that I have those friends in my life that mean so much to me.
