Apalling behavior at school assembly.............

School assembly starts every time with us turning to face the Canadian flag, and then singing Oh Canada. I had to turn to my right, and there was a woman in front of me with a little boy and a little girl with her. Her other child was in grade one. The little girl standing with her Mom starts to sing Oh Canada, and her mom swats her and says in a "hushed" whisper, don't go singing that song. I was appalled, offended, and deeply upset about it. She was an ethnic woman, covered from head to toe in fabric excepting the little window she sees out of. Canada is good enough for her to come and live here, and let her kids attend school here, but it isn't good enough to let your kid sing the national anthem????????? People immigrate to Canada to leave their terrible countries behind, they should come here and stand up and be proud to be a Canadian. Leave your crap that you were needing to escape where you were leaving, don't bring it with you. If you do not want to be a

This is for Nancy. She is a teacher. Her kids asked her one day why Canadians called it Kraft Dinner. I told her that was what was on the box. So here is the proof. Ignore the top Diner as we have to have French on our packaging but it does say Kraft Dinner. You do not see macaroni & cheese except for in little little type right at the bottom. So you can show your class this. KD is what it is known as.

Victoria Day

Image
Today is the day that Canada celebrates the Queen's birthday. Must have been named after a previous queen though as the current one is Elizabeth. I wonder when we finally have a king if it will change. The May long weekend really denotes the beginning of summer here. In another week we will be able to put out flowers, and do some gardening. Here are some pics from Mother's Day.

May Long

Cleaned out the shed yesterday, got DS riding his bike, (with training wheels), got DD back on her bike after her wipeout. DH and I got our bikes out. Got a little sunburnt. Went shopping, bought DD some new summer clothes. She needed them badly. She got her bio-bloc (mouth widner) on Friday afternoon, she is having a hard time adapting to it. She is a little down over it. It is needed to make room for her adult teeth, so she doesn't have to have surgery like I did. I cleaned the kitchen today. Doing laundry. WInd is blowing today. Heck of a killer migraine today. And I am officially a guitar heroine. I did it, I did one song on guitar hero three for the WII. WOOHOO

My introduction to the net

was a place called scrapjazz and this is my story. I joined SJ in February of 2005, long after it was a well established board. I saw it mentioned in a magazine. The main reason I joined was to share my albums with family in Sweeden. It was the only way we could do it easily. I slowly got to know people, and they slowly got to know me. It wasn't until December of 2005 that anyone even knew what my real first name was. One very resourceful person, figured it out from some LO that I had posted. I became a DIVA on my one year anniversary and did it with a bang. LOL leaving everyone hanging at 4,999. I didn't pour out my life story, I never used the board as a form of therapy, I never intruded into established friendships, I let people get to know me, and if they wanted to include me, accept me or reject me. That is the kind of person I am. I was a newbie, and was just me. I opened my home and had a jazzer live with me for a week, I have traveled to meet jazzers, I have cried with

That snooze button

bugs me, gets me in trouble, and why oh why does it even exist. I get into so much trouble over it. Thinking I have only snoozed once, only to find out I have snoozed over and over. argggg. DD wiped out royally on her bike last night. Huge scrape on just above her elbow, and her knee is scraped, pants torn. I was scared she had smashed her face again the way she went down. First time I let her practice in an empty parking lot. She has been riding for less than a week. Huge wide open parking lot, supposed to be practicing circles and figure eights. She got to close to the curb where all the lose sand and dirt from winter still is. She was turning at the time, and braking and her wheel just went out from under her, she does not have the expierience yet to compensate. So down she went. She was very mad at me that I made her ride her bike back to where the van was parked. Poor DS thought it was his fault.

Mothers Day

I slept till get this noon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was woken a couple of times, but managed to go back to sleep each time. I had french toast for breakfast. DD, DS and hubby gave me windchimes, I have wanted some forever, and a turtle that lights up for the garden, I love turtles, and an IPOD shuffle. WOOHOO. We went to the park so DD could practice her biking more, and totally surprise her daddy that she could bike by herself. Then DS had a major temper tantrum. DH got ticked off and carried him off and home. DD then thought she was in trouble. Not a nice twist on the afternoon. Then it rained so we went home. DH wanted to go and get some things, DS was sleeping after his tantrum, so I put in a movie "Dreamcatcher". Then I went looking for DD I could not find her. Looked everywhere, turned out she went with DH. And no one told me. LOL. Movie was freaky. I later get on the computer and try a few things with Photo Shop Elements 6, I need instructions. OMG I am so fa

I brought my DD to tears last night

We were looking through the scrapbooks I have made over the years. She starts tearing up, I am like why are you crying. SHe is they are not sad tears Mommy but Happy tears. Why tears at all sweetie? Cause I am important enough for you to scrapbook. OMG it was warm fuzzies but at the same time a punch in the gut. How could she not know she is important to me? Do I not show her that she is? Why doesn't she know? Her councellor at school called and I talked to her yesterday there were a few things that she didn't feel able to ask me directly. So she had the counceller broach them to me. A 7 year old should not be worrying about these things. I told her the truth, and told her the plans that are in place and hopefully that will make her be a little more at ease. I hope.

One Proud Mama

On Sunday she could not go unless Mom or Dad were holding the handle bars and seat. We skipped Monday as she was recovering from her dentist appointment. Tuesday she would go short distances by herself. Wednesday she did three loops of the walking path by herself. She managed to start on her own and is working on braking. WOOOHOOOO. She did it. I am a proud Mama . And it is snowing today, this morning anyway. ewwwwww

So Proud of my little girl

Trying to ride a bike for someone that has co-ordination issues is hard. I know I didn't learn till I was nine. Could not master it no matter how hard I tried. On Sunday DD could only keep going if one of us was running beside her holding the seat and the handle bars. We skipped Monday due to her dentist appointment, and hit the park again yesterday. She did so well. SHe can go straight for a heck of a long ways now, leaving me in the dust to catch up. She is successfully braking occasionally, and managing to stop sometimes without falling. Sure she had a few spectacular spills, the important thing is she always got back up and on and tried again. I am so proud of her for doing that. She is a perfectionist she wants to be able to do it all, all at once. She even managed to get started and going on her own about three times. I think that is awesome, she thinks it isn't good enough. LOL. DS managed a day at daycare with no violence, he did not participate well. He w

Not feeling too hot

I have had a bad headache for days now. I just wanna cry. DD had her dentist appointment yesterday. SHe had to have impressions taken of her mouth for an appliance called a bio-bloc, she puked all over having them taken, then her one badly infected tooth was pulled. She was a trooper through the whole thing. She got a soft icecream cone after, and we bought a new bicylce helmt too, a hannah montana one of course. DS is having so many issues at daycare, he has become violent and disobedient, and his headbanging is getting worse. He slapped the owner of the daycare accross the face, kicked another teacher in the face, kicked another child, all last week. Does not participate in circle time, only for his own turn. Yesterday he didn't want to go down for nap, so called the teacher a name, then got mad at another student and hit and scratched them to the point of drawing blood, and then did the head banging. Video games and WII were forbidden last night and today. I signed the

Dreams

DD woke up with her night terrors last night. OMG they are scary. She is big enough now that I cannot restrain her. She can do physical bodily harm to me. DS woke up from a bad dream and had crawled into bed with me. The alarm this morning woke me from a very sweet dream I was having as a girlfriend of Jeff Probst. Ummm those dimples. And I was a blonde. Anyone care to explain to me what the purpose of CSI Vegas was last night. Other than a quick filler after the writers strike, it made no sense whatsoever. LOST omg what a show last night, so good, so surprising, getting a little better at figuring out the time shifts. Just what is Kate up to? WHo is visiting Hurley? Jack and his drugs and booze, not good.

To add to my stress levels

I have had pain in my left breast since February. With my normal doctor on sick leave, and then stuff happening with Mom, I dealt with it by buying softer bras. I would cry in bed at night from the pain if I wore a normal bra. So at my physical today, I tell Dr. E about it. She is concerned at the amount of pain I am in from her touching it. She has me set up with a mamogram and ultrasound for it on a day later this month. If it is a cyst I need to go to a needle aspiration clinic and have it sucked out. If the ultrasound shows more density, there will have to be a biopsy. I feel like I have been hit with a truck. I don't want it to be there, I don't want it to hurt, I don't want to face this. I did learn something though. She asked me to describe the pain, I told her that if I was still breastfeeding that I would have thought it was mastitius. She said you can still get that even if you are not breastfeeding, but she didn't think that was it.

Pennsylvania was pretty

I didn't always know when I was in Ohio or PA as they kind of merge together. The leaves were just starting to come out, but the blooming trees were gorgeous. The mayday trees smelt so nice. Lots of hills, and curves, and roads right through lakes, LOL. I got to see my first amish buggy, and my first toll booth ever. The crop was fun, and the store was amazing, to my limited knowledge of scrap stores. My entire LSS would fit in the crop area.
